If you sometime has a PDF document you would like to edit or maybe add your own notes to, this post is something that will interest you for sure. You can of cause buy a very expensive program from Adobe or you can use this free online tool that I will tell you about below.
PDF to Word Converter (Free Online service)
On www.pdftowordconverter.org you can convert your PDF files to Word format for free. All you have to do is to upload your PDF file and enter in your e-mail address. Shortly after you have uploaded the file you will receive an e-mail with a link where you can download your file in Word format (.doc). I have tested the free service myself and it is indeed very simple. I printed a standard Windows test page with my BioPDF printer and uploaded it to the online service. Shortly after I got an e-mail with a link to the document converted to .doc Word format. I opened the document with Microsoft Word and was able to edit the text like in any other Word document. The file will be stored online for 24 hours before it will be deleted again.
Consider what you upload
As always, when you upload your data to an free online service, you might want to consider what kind of data you upload. You should never upload sensitive data to a free online service. Not even that they promise to delete all your data within 24 hours.
Able2Extract
If you need to convert multiple documents you might want to buy Able2Extract instead of using the online version. You can download a Free 7 days Trial version of Able2Extract to check it out. Able2Extract is available for Windows, Mac and Linux systems. Able2Extract is also able to convert PDF to Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and a couple of other formats. With Able2Extract you can also configure Batch conversion of multiple files if you need to convert a big amount of files. Able2Extract is created by Investintech.com that also makes other products used to convert files. A single user license is available for only $99.95. Before you download the 7 days trial version, let me just inform you that it is limited to convert only 3 pages at the time. If you like the Trial version you can activate it to a full version if you end up buying the program.
I hope you found this post informative and will love if you will leave me a comment below or maybe share this post on Social Medias as well.

Hi Thomas,
I use Adobe Acrobat Professional to carry out my PDF to Word conversion. However, I am not satisfied with some of the outputs – especially when trying to convert a complex document to Word.
I will try the PDFtoWordConverter and see if it’s any better. Many thanks this your post .
I’ve used this one. It’s pretty convenient..Conversion happens really fast.I would recommend this to everyone looking for a fast and easy way to convert pdf file to word.

Informative article, Thomas. But i want to know how to convert word format to pdf. Hope you write post about it.
Hi Arslan
That one is easy. You simply just select the Save As command and choose PDF from the dropdown menu. All newer version of Office are able to save directly in Word format. Alternately you can install a PDF printer like e.g. BioPDF or CutePDF.
Great post!!!
It is often necessary to convert one file type to another for a particular use. If we can do it online for free , then how cool is that!!! Easy, convenient and safe!!!
Thanks Thomas for this great share.
I use PDF to Word Converter free online software regularly. But by reading your site I understand there are lots of software.

Urgh, if only I found out about this sooner. I had to download a software with over 1gb+ in size just to convert my pdf file to word and now my pc is laggier than ever before!

There is something called Nitro Software that might be what you are looking for: http://www.pdftoword.com/
I used to convert PDF to word or word to PDF online. It was time consuming to search the website and convert. Sometimes it didn’t convert the file correctly. So i was a brain box for me. But office 2010 makes it easy for me by providing PDF option in the SAVE AS menu. But no option for PDF to Word is available. So you solved my problem by providing these useful softwares…..great work bro. keep sharing useful stuff….thumbs up.
Hi Thomas,
I have occasionally used the online converters. But I had never thought about bulk conversion. thanks for sharing info about AbleExtract software. 🙂
Thank you for sharing this very useful software. Now, I can convert pdf files to word format.
You are welcome Lei.
Very useful post, many of us must have surely looked for some software that converts PDF into Word. I am also interested in knowing if there is any software that can convert Word into PDF.
I am a big fan of Apple products so I am using their “PDF to Word converter” which is pretty good. I also used some free converters but I had surprises from time to time. I testes the trial version of Able2Extract few years ago but I was not impressed. Maybe they may have enhanced their product meanwhile.
This application is really useful and the best part is that it’s free. I was also looking for software that would help me convert from Word to PDF. Of course, if such a software is also available for free like the “PDF to Word” application then it would be great.
Hi Jerry
There is a lot of free PDF printers out there that can convert to PDF files. One of my favourite is BioPDF: http://www.biopdf.com/
